Trump Ramps Up Tariff Threats Ahead of Davos Talks
Trump added that he agreed to meet with “various parties” in Davos. In a separate post, he shared screenshots of a text conversation between himself and French President Emmanuel Macron, who proposed a G7 meeting after Davos with representatives from Ukraine, Denmark, Syria, and Russia in attendance.
This morning, Trump threatened to impose a 200% tariff on French wine and champagne in response to Macron’s unwillingness to join the newly created “Board of Peace” on Gaza. Leaders from the European Union are set to meet on Thursday to discuss a response to Trump’s tariff proposals.
