Trump Slaps New Tariffs on Europe over Greenland Push
Last week, Trump announced an additional 10% tariff on eight European countries, including Norway, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. The tariff will remain in effect until the U.S. reaches a deal to purchase Greenland and will be enforced starting on February 1 with an increase to 25% on June 1.
The European Union (EU) has vowed to retaliate and is considering imposing $103 billion in tariffs on U.S. goods. The bloc is also weighing activating its anti-coercion tool, which could result in tariffs and new taxes on U.S. companies doing business in Europe.
