“The United States has the opportunity to lead the world in AI,” said Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a statement to the Wall Street Journal. “I’m honored to join the President’s council and work with other industry leaders to help make this happen.”

PCAST to Advise on AI, Quantum Computing, and Biotech

The panel will be co-chaired by White House technology advisers David Sacks and Michael Kratsios and will be terminated in two years unless renewed by Trump.

Previous presidents, including George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden, have created similar groups to address innovations in technology and to remain globally competitive. Outside of AI, PCAST will also focus on quantum computing, advanced biotechnology, and soliciting information from stakeholders.
