Trump is ‘Seriously Considering’ a Strike on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities

Following yesterday’s evacuation recommendation to the citizens of Tehran, Iran, President Trump is now “seriously considering” a U.S. missile strike on the country’s nuclear facilities, according to Axios. The report echoes a recent post from Vice President J.D. Vance that warned Trump “may decide he needs to take further action to end Iranian enrichment.”

On Monday, Trump departed the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada ahead of schedule in order to focus on the turmoil in the Middle East.

Global War Fears Rise as U.S. Sends Aircraft, Ships to Middle East

The S&P 500 (SPX) is trading at an intra-day low as global war odds appear to have heightened. Earlier today, the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier was routed to the Arabian Sea from the South China Sea, joining the USS Carl Vinson. In addition, the Pentagon will send additional planes to the Middle East for refueling and defensive, not offensive, measures.

“We are postured defensively in the region to be strong, in pursuit of a peace deal,” said Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in an interview with Fox News.

Defense stocks, like Lockheed Martin (LMT) and Northrop Grumman (NOC), are rising as beneficiaries of an extended war.
