Trump Goes Full Power to Boost AI Stocks and Tackle Chinese Challenge

President Trump is set to unleash a set of executive orders aimed at powering up the AI sector to take on an ever-belligerent Chinese challenge to U.S. dominance.

Confident Investing Starts Here:

According to a Reuters report, the Trump administration is readying a package of actions that include making it easier for power-generating projects to connect to the grid, and providing federal land on which to build the data centers needed to expand AI technology.

AI Action Plan

The administration is also set to release an AI action plan and schedule public events to draw public attention to the efforts.

The news helped lift AI-related stocks such as Nvidia (NVDA), Microsoft (MSFT), and Alphabet (GOOGL) which are increasingly looking for new ways, including nuclear power, to keep their AI operations moving forward.

The huge amount of data processing behind AI requires a rapid increase in power supplies that are straining utilities and grids in many states.

Power demand from AI data centers could grow more than thirty-fold by 2035, according to a new report by consultancy Deloitte.

Military Threat

U.S. AI growth is also being increasingly challenged by China following the emergence of the lower-cost but equally effective DeepSeek earlier this year. China has since warned that hundreds of DeepSeek-type companies are on their way as it ramps up funding.

That matters to the U.S. both on an economic level but also militarily, with AI increasingly becoming effective in weaponry systems.

Trump is committed to winning the AI race. He declared on his first day in office a national energy emergency aimed at removing all regulatory obstacles to oil and gas drilling, coal and critical mineral mining, and building new gas and nuclear power plants to bring more energy capacity online.

He also ordered his administration in January to produce an AI Action Plan that would make “America the world capital of artificial intelligence” and reduce regulatory barriers.
