The stakes are higher today because Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) makes most of the world’s advanced chips, which are essential for developing AI.
Taiwan Left Out of U.S. Readout as Summit Centers on Cooperation
The U.S. readout of the meeting didn’t include any mention of Taiwan. Instead, it focused on economic cooperation and trade between the two world powers. Both sides also supported reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
“We’ve gotten along when there were difficulties, we worked it out,” Trump said. The two leaders will meet again on Friday morning before Trump departs for Washington, D.C.
