While the details of the offer are unclear, it would include a hardline rule that will not allow Iran to engage in any form of uranium enrichment. Over the weekend, Iran cancelled a planned meeting with the U.S. to discuss its nuclear program.
Earlier today, the Wall Street Journal said that Iran informed Arab intermediaries of its intent to begin discussions with Israel in regard to ending the conflict and negotiating its nuclear program.
Iran hasn’t Contacted Israel, Says Official
An Israeli official informed The Post that Iran has not contacted Israel to begin negotiations. In addition, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu doesn’t believe that Iran is actually interested in material discussions. “They want to continue these phony talks – to lie, deceive, and drag the US along. We have very solid intelligence on this,” said Netanyahu in an interview with ABC.
Meanwhile, the S&P 500 (SPX) has largely shrugged off global war fears and is up by nearly 1% on Monday. The benchmark index closed lower on Friday amid the start of the conflict.
