“President Trump has decided to withdraw the United States from UNESCO — which supports woke, divisive cultural and social causes that are totally out-of-step with the common-sense policies that Americans voted for in November,” White House deputy spokesperson Anna Kelly told the New York Post.
Third Time’s a Charm: U.S. to Withdraw from UNESCO
In February, Trump initiated a 90-day review of U.S. participation in UNESCO. The review cited conflicts with the cultural group’s positions on Palestine and China. It also took aim at UNESCO’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.
