“Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those instances,” said Trump in a Truth Social post on Friday.
Russia Faces 100% Secondary Tariffs
Earlier this week, Trump gave Russia a deadline of August 8 to end its war against Ukraine, threatening 100% secondary tariffs. These tariffs would affect buyers of Russian exports, such as energy. Russia is a major global exporter of energy with key customers like China and India.
