“I WILL ONLY LOWER TARIFFS IF A COUNTRY AGREES TO OPEN ITS MARKET,” said Trump on Wednesday. “IF NOT, MUCH HIGHER TARIFFS!” He added that both Japan and Indonesia committed to opening their markets through the trade deals finalized yesterday. Japanese exports to the U.S. will face a 15% tariff, while Indonesian exports will be taxed at 19%.

Trump Calls for 0% Tariffs on U.S.

It’s not clear if “open markets” means zero trade barriers, 0% tariffs, or both. In a separate post, Trump said, “Another great power of Tariffs. Without them, it would be impossible to get countries to OPEN UP!!! ALWAYS, ZERO TARIFFS TO AMERICA!!!”

According to TipRanks’ Trump Dashboard, Apple (AAPL), Boeing (BA), Tesla (TSLA), and three other stocks will likely be affected by his post.
