“We made a lot more money than anybody thought because of tariffs, and the bill helped us along,” Trump said in a Wednesday evening address from the White House. “Nobody deserves it more than our military, and I say congratulations to everybody.”
Hegseth Orders Military Payout as Tariffs Bring in $200 Billion
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has already ordered the Pentagon to allocate $2.6 billion as a one-time payout to service members in pay grades O-6 and below, according to CNN.
Earlier this week, the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency said that Trump’s tariff policies have generated more than $200 billion in revenue. The Supreme Court is currently contemplating the legality of the tariffs, although it’s unclear when it will issue a decision.
