Ukraine and Russia Trade Ceasefire Violation Accusations
The ceasefire was enacted in honor of Victory Day, which commemorates the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945 and is widely observed in Russia and other former Soviet states. The celebration is viewed as one of Russia’s most important holidays.
Still, both Ukraine and Russia have already accused each other of ceasefire violations. Russia’s Defense Ministry said there were more than 1,300 violations in the conflict zone, while Ukraine accused Russia of continued strikes.
