The Trump administration is planning to eliminate “woke” federal programs and downsize the government workforce in order to reduce wasteful spending, according to a memo from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

“Removing control of the levers of Government from the bureaucracy will end the push for divisive and woke policies driving DEI, gender ideology, and the green new scam,” read the memo.
OMB Memo Focuses on DEI Rollbacks, Job Cuts, and AI Integration
The memo notes that the government will slash funding for programs that perpetuate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), open borders, and K-12 indoctrination. Other objectives include offloading unnecessary leases and buildings and ending government censorship of speech.
Furthermore, the memo lays out goals to reduce the number of government employees by laying off poor performers and eliminating “non-essential” jobs. It also points to using AI to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
