XTI Aerospace selects drivetrain supplier-partners for TriFan 600

XTI Aerospace (XTIA) announced the selection of Triumph Geared Solutions, Formsprag Clutch, and Kamatics Corporation as key supplier-partners for the design, development and manufacture of the drivetrain system for XTI’s TriFan 600 vertical takeoff and landing airplane. Announcement of the drivetrain suppliers meets a key Q2 2025 product and engineering milestone. Execution of definitive agreements between the parties is forthcoming. Under the planned teaming arrangement, Triumph Geared Solutions will design, develop, and manufacture the primary and secondary gearboxes that manage power distribution across the TriFan’s propulsion system; Formsprag Clutch will design, develop and manufacture the clutch systems within the TriFan’s drivetrain; Kamatics will design and manufacture the precision shafts that ultimately connect the twin turboshaft engines to the TriFan’s three ducted fans.
