“Everwild,” a video game by Microsoft (MSFT)-owned Rare that was first announced in November 2019, has been cancelled, VideoGamesChronicle’s Andy Robinson reports, citing sources. Team members at Rare, which is known for making games like “Sea of Thieves” and “Banjo-Kazooie,” were informed of the news, which comes amid major layoffs across Microsoft and its Xbox business, the author says, citing people with knowledge of the project. Staff will likely lose their jobs as part of a broader overhaul of Rare, the author notes.
