WPP (WPP) has lost the $1.7B ad account for Mars, the owner of M&Ms and Snickers, to Publicis (PUBGY), Bloomberg’s Benoit Berthelot and Will Kubzansky report. According to people familiar with the matter, Publicis will handle media, production and paid social media and influencer ads for Mars after winning one of the largest competitions of the year, while Interpublic Group’s (IPG) Weber Shandwick will oversee public relations. WPP announced Monday that CEO Mark Read will leave at the end of the year.
