Wolfe Research notes that Ecolab (ECL) announced a definitive agreement to acquire CoolIT Systems, a leader in liquid cooling technologies for AI data centers, from KKR (KKR). Ecolab will pay about $4.75B in cash at closing, which represents 29-times next twelve months EBITDA and 24-times estimate 2027 EBITDA. The firm views this deal as “a knee-jerk Slight Negative” given the hefty price tag, but ultimately understands the rationale. Wolfe has a Peer Perform rating on Ecolab.
