WestPark Capital believes it may be “underappreciated” that a Department of Defense policy change made in July moved drones from “durable property” to “consumable commodities,” which now allows drones to be treated like ammunition, an item expected to be consumed and replaced at volume. The firm, which thinks military retrofits may present a large opportunity for “LIDAR leaders” like MicroVision (MVIS), has a Buy rating on the shares.
