Warner Music (WMG) has reached a licensing agreement with AI startup Udio to power a new streaming platform with the songs it owns, the Financial Times’ Anna Nicolaou reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The music label has settled a lawsuit with the startup as part of the deal, the author notes, citing people familiar with the mater. As part of the pact, Udio intends to launch a new subscription service in 2026 which will let users create their own songs using licensed tracks, the author says, noting that Warner’s artists would have to agree for their music to be included in the service.
