Walmart (WMT) is testing opening so-called “dark stores,” retail locations with resemble traditional stores but are closed to the public, as a way to increase the speed of deliveries, Bloomberg’s Jaewon Kang reports. The retail giant has opened up one of these stores in Dallas and intends to open another in Bentonville, Arkansas, where the comany is headquartered, the author says, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Walmart is looking into adding even more dark stores as well, the author notes.
