Walmart (WMT) announced the grand opening of its first owned and operated case-ready beef facility in Olathe, Kansas. The 300,000+ square-foot facility will package and distribute Angus beef sourced directly from Sustainable Beef LLC to stores across the Midwest. The facility is expected to create over 600 jobs in the Olathe and surrounding communities. This opening is a step in Walmart’s strategy to build an end-to-end supply chain for Angus beef.
