Volkswagen (VWAGY) works council chief Daniela Cavallo said that the car maker’s restructuring of its Wolfsburg facility from 2027 to make way for EV-only output could result in a temporary four-day working week at the factory, Reuters reports. Cavallo told reporters that unions had agreed to minimum capacity utilization for the transition period, but urged employees to take on additional shifts in the run-up to compensate for the likelihood of fewer working hours in the coming years.
