Volkswagen (VWAGY) will not continue its plans to create an Audi factory in the U.S. unless auto tariffs are reduced, William Wilkes of Bloomberg reports, citing comments made by Chief Executive Officer Oliver Blume to Germany’s Handelsblatt newspaper. Audi has been debating on manufacturing in America since 2023, initially encouraged by subsidies, but this has shifted since the Trump administration placed tariffs on European carmakers.
