BMO Capital lowered the firm’s price target on Vertex (VERX) to $16 from $22 and keeps a Market Perform rating on the shares. The company’s 2025 results were negatively impacted by myriad factors from lower growth in entitlements to elongated sales cycles, the analyst tells investors in a research note. BMO adds however that the new CEO’s playbook of speeding innovation, leaning on strengths in enterprise tax, accelerating e-invoicing efforts and making Vertex an AI-first company set the stage for a potentially transformative year.
