Verizon (VZ) has been re-examining hundreds of millions of dollars in spending on sports and music sponsorships as part of efforts to cut costs, the Wall Street Journal’s Patience Haggin and Suzanne Vranica report. In recent month, the telecoms giant discussed curtailing or even fully exiting its high-profile NFL sponsorship, people familiar with the matter told the Journal. The decade-long deal was reached in 2021, the authors note.
