Utah Governor Spencer Cox signed a bill requiring Apple (AAPL) and Google’s (GOOGL) mobile app stores to verify users ages and require parental permission for those under 18 to use certain apps, Kif Leswing of CNBC reports. When someone makes a new account, the companies will need to request age verification checks, which will likely be done using credit cards. If someone under 18 opens an app store account, the companies will have to link it to a parent’s account or request additional documentation.
