US railroad customers ask regulators block Union Pacific-Norfolk deal, FT says

Seven associations of shippers, or freight railroad customers, have demanded regulators to block or put more conditions on the proposed merger between Union Pacific (UNP) and Norfolk Southern (NSC), Robert Wright of The Financial Times. Freight railroad customers worry the plan could significantly increase the power of the merged railroad, leading to raised prices or reduced service standards.
