For about $7B, Universal’s parent, Comcast (CMCSA), built the first major U.S. amusement park to open in over twenty years, Jacob Passy of The Wall Street Journal reports. The goal of this new theme park is vacation-destination supremacy over other parks, such as Disney (DIS). Epic’s debut, however, comes as some Americans are scaling back vacation plans amid economic concerns.
