United Airlines (UAL) began rolling out its free Starlink Wi-Fi last month but has since disabled the service on roughly two dozen planes to address problems with static interference, Alison Sider of The Wall Street Journal reports. United said is working with Starlink to address “a small number of reports” about the problem, which it added is not a flight-safety issue. While the issue is being address, the Starlink-equipped regional jets will be operating with the Wi-Fi turned off.
