Unilever (UL) rejected the claim it tried to oust former Ben & Jerry’s CEO Dave Stever for supporting his company’s activism, Jonathan Stempel of Reuters reports. Unilever instead claimed it offered Stever a larger role and more pay, but he chose to resign. The company also sought to dismiss Ben & Jerry’s lawsuit seeking to stop its alleged efforts to dismantle its board and end its activism.
