Ubisoft (UBSFY) told MobileSyrup it is laying off 40 staff at its Ubisoft Toronto studio. The French game maker said the layoffs at are part of its wider cost-savings plan, adding that the studio is still working on a remake of the original “Splinter Cell” title. “This decision was not taken lightly and does not in any way reflect the talent, dedication, or contributions of the individuals affected. Our priority now is to support them through this transition with comprehensive severance packages and robust career placement assistance,” Ubisoft told MobileSyrup in a statement.
