Uber (UBER) has added hotel booking functionality within its app through a partnership with Expedia (EXPE) expanding its push toward becoming a broader “super app” beyond transportation, The New York Times’ Tariro Mzezewa reports. The move extends Uber’s existing ecosystem, which already includes food delivery, freight, and travel-related services, into lodging, further integrating mobility and travel offerings within a single platform. “We want to become the one app for everything, from helping people go anywhere, helping them get anything and now to help them as part of their travel journey as well,” Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi says.
