U.S. look at taking equity stake in exchange for CHIPS Act grants, Reuters says

U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is looking into the government taking equity stakes in Intel (INTC) as well as other chipmakers in exchange for CHIPS Act grants, Andrea Shalal, David Shepardson, Nandita Bose and Max Cherney of Reuters reports, citing two sources. The stake proposed would be a non-voting stake, so the government would have no control over company operations. Publicly traded companies in the space include AMD (AMD), Marvell (MRVL), Microchip (MCHP), Micron (MU), Nvidia (NVDA), Qualcomm (QCOM) and Texas Instruments (TXN).
