The House Committee on Homeland Security asked Google (GOOGL) and Apple (AAPL) to list the steps they are taking to remove apps that allow consumers to track federal immigration officers, Reuters reports. The committee urged the companies to ensure these apps cannot be used to target officers and said that while free speech is protected, this does not extend to advocacy that incites imminent lawless action, referencing a Supreme Court ruling.
