U.S. authorities are investigating on if a Chinese company whose home-internet routers have been linked to cyberattacks poses a national-security risk and are considering banning the routers, Heather Somerville, Dustin Volz, and Aruna Viswanatha of The Wall Street Journal. TP-Link has roughly 65% of the U.S. market for routers for home and small businesses, while also being the top choice on Amazon (AMZN) and power internet communications for federal government agencies. Investigators at the Commerce, Defense and Justice departments have opened probes into the company and authorities could ban a sale of the routers in the U.S. next year, people familiar with the matter told the Journal.
