U.K. officials have been engaged in private discussions with their U.S. counterparts in an effort to resolve concerns that Britain is seeking to force Apple (AAPL) to build a backdoor into Americans’ encrypted data, Bloomberg’s Alex Wickham reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The high-level talks occurred after the tech giant removed its most advanced encrypted security feature for cloud data in the U.K. in response to a U.K. order in January, the author notes.
