Dave Oshry, CEO of indie game publisher New Blood Interactive, and David Szymanski, developer of the game “Dusk,” have vocally called for a boycott of Nvidia (NVDA) following the company’s unveiling of AI-powered generative upscaling tool DLSS 5, PC Gamer’s James Bentley reports. “Cripple their sales, tank their stock price,” Oshry told PC Gamer. “Stop collaborating with them as developers. Then maybe they’ll think about going back to giving us what we want.” Szymanski told PC Gamer that he agrees with everything Oshry said, adding that, “even if we set aside all (relevant and valid) concerns about artistic intent and generative AI itself, the lighting and contrast it adds (or removes, in some parts) makes scenes look less realistic and believable.”
