TuSimple (TSP) was preparing to exit the American market for China when the CEO directed staff to ship 24 Nvidia (NVDA) chips out of the U.S. to its newly established subsidiary in Australia, Kate O’Keeffe, Heather Somerville, Yang Jie, and Aruna Viswanatha of The Wall Street Journal report. These chips never made it to their destination, for the Commerce Department stopped the shipment while the agency investigates whether the company planned to send the chips to China in violation of export controls, people familiar with the matter told the Journal.
