TSMC to phase out 6-inch wafer manufacturing, Reuters reports

TSMC (TSM) will phase out its 6-inch wafer manufacturing business over the next two years and continue consolidating its 8-inch wafer production capacity to improve efficiency, Reuters’ Wen-Yee Lee reports. The decision was made after a “thorough” evaluation and was based on market conditions, the company told Reuters in a statement.
