Forget margin or options. Here's how the pros trade SPYU.S.-IRAN TALKS: The first round of negotiations between the governments of the U.S. and Iran regarding an agreement to end hostilities will take place on Friday, Axios reports, citing two sources familiar with discussions.
The New York Times’ Tyler Pager, Farnaz Fassihi, David E. Sanger, and Eric Nagourney had reported earlier that Iran has accepted Pakistan’s proposal for a two-week ceasefire with the United States following last-minute diplomatic efforts by Pakistan and China. Sources told The Times that the ceasefire had been cleared by Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
TARIFFS: President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social. “A Country supplying Military Weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed, on any and all goods sold to the United States of America, 50%, effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions!”
URANIUM ENRICHMENT: President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social, “The United States will work closely with Iran, which we have determined has gone through what will be a very productive Regime Change! There will be no enrichment of Uranium, and the United States will, working with Iran, dig up and remove all of the deeply buried (B-2 Bombers) Nuclear ‘Dust.’ It is now, and has been, under very exacting Satellite Surveillance (Space Force!). Nothing has been touched from the date of attack. We are, and will be, talking Tariff and Sanctions relief with Iran. Many of the 15 points have already been agreed to. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
NO RELIEF: The Trump administration has rejected requests from Ford Motor (F) and other U.S. automakers for relief from the tariffs on aluminum after two fires at the Novelis aluminum plant in Oswego, New York took the facility out of commission until at list this June, Gavin Bade, Bob Tita, and Ryan Felton of The Wall Street Journal report. The Novelis aluminum plant in Oswego is the largest domestic supplier of aluminum sheets for the U.S. automotive industry, supplying materials for Ford, Stellantis (STLA), and General Motors (GM) as well as foreign automakers with U.S. facilities. The disruption has affected Ford the most, which relied on the plant for the aluminum exterior of its F-150 truck. Ford has recently petitioned from the Trump administration for assistance, asking for relief until the Oswego plant returns to full service, but, so far, the administration has not budged, people with knowledge of the conversations told the Journal.
