DHS BILL: The Senate early Friday morning advanced a bill to fund most of the Department of Homeland Security, in a move to end the partial government shutdown that has disrupted air travel across the U.S., CNBC’s Justin Papp reports. It now moves to the House for final approval. A vote could be held as soon as Friday as lawmakers seek to leave Washington for a scheduled two-week recess, the author notes.

Bloomberg had reported earlier that President Trump was expected to sign executive order paying TSA amid DHS shutdown. Publicly traded companies in the airline space include Alaska Air (ALK), American Airlines (AAL), Delta Air Lines (DAL), Frontier Group (ULCC), JetBlue (JBLU), Southwest (LUV), Sun Country Airlines (SNCY) and United Airlines (UAL).

IRAN WAR: In a post on Truth Social, President Trump states, “As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time. Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Though U.S. President Donald Trump said he was pausing strikes on Iran’s energy sector for 10 more days following Iran’s request for additional time for peace negotiations to take place, peace talk mediators said that Iran did not ask for the extra time, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The Wall Street Journal’s Costas Paris and Lara Seligman write that the Pentagon is evaluating plans to send up to additional 10K ground troops to the Middle East to give President Trump greater optionality on military actions in Iran. That force would be added to the 5,000 Marines and the thousands of paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division already ordered to the region, the report states.

PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION: A U.S. judge has granted Anthropic’s request for a preliminary injunction in its suit against the Trump administration over the DOD’s decision to blacklist the company, CNBC’s Ashley Capoot and Jeffrey Kopp report. Anthropic sued the administration to try to reverse the Defense Department’s decision to blacklist the company after contract talks fell apart. Judge Rita Lin questioned the U.S. government about the “attempt to cripple” the AI startup in a hearing on Tuesday.

WHEELED WALKER BAN: The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida filed a lawsuit against United Parks & Resorts (PRKS) and its subsidiaries, alleging the company’ policy banning guests with disabilities from using wheeled walkers with seats, including rollators, violates Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The agency says United owns, leases, or operates twelve parks and experiences in the United States, including SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Discovery Cove Orlando, and Aquatica Orlando. The lawsuit seeks a court order to force United Parks to “stop discriminating against individuals with disabilities, to modify its policies to comply with the ADA, and to train its staff on the ADA.” The lawsuit also seeks monetary damages to compensate “aggrieved individuals.”
