Trump survives assassination attempt at campaign rally in Pennsylvania

Former president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, 78, was shot in the ear in an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. The Trump campaign has since said he was “doing well.” The FBI also said early on Sunday that it had identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, PA – a registered Republican, according to state voter records – as the “subject involved.” Crooks was shot dead by Secret Service agents and an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle was recovered near his body, according to reports. One person attending the rally was killed and two others were critically wounded.
