U.S. President Donald Trump said he plans to impose 25% tariffs on “all cars that are not made in the United States,” CNBC’s Kevin Breuninger and Eamon Javers report. “We’ll be announcing that fairly soon over the next few days, probably, and then April 2 comes, that’ll be reciprocal tariffs,” the president said during a cabinet meeting. Trump has previously called April 2 “liberation day” and “the big one” when it comes to imposing tariffs, the authors note. Publicly traded companies in the space include Ford (F), General Motors (GM), Honda (HMC), Mercedes-Benz (MBGYY), Nissan (NSANY), Stellantis (STLA), Tesla (TSLA), Toyota (TM) and Volkswagen (VWAGY).
