Toyota’s (TM) Digital Transformation Promotion Department is aiming to help the company catch up with competitors, with a focus of modernizing the company from within, Nicholas Takahashi of Bloomberg reports. While they’ve managed to make some changes, Toyota’s core competency remains in hardware. While the company’s cautious approach to EVs has been key to its success, many both inside and outside of the company are frustrated with its progress.
