Tom Dundon, owner of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, has reached a tentative pact to acquire the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers from Paul Allen’s estate, Sportico’s Scott Soshnick and Eben Novy-Williams report, citing people familiar with the details. Others who will be part of the new Trail Blazers ownership group include Blue Owl Capital co-president Marc Zahr and Collective Global co-CEOE Sheel Tyle, who is based in Portland, the authors say, citing the people. It is unclear how the team is being valued as part to the deal, the authors note. Publicly traded owners of sports franchises include the Liberty Braves Group (BATRA), MSG Sports (MSGS) and Manchester United (MANU).
