TikTok is making a final appeal to the Court of Justice of the European Union to overturn its designation as a gatekeeper under the EU’s Digital Markets Act, a case that could shape how aggressively Europe regulates large technology platforms, Reuters’ Foo Yun Chee reports. TikTok was designated a gatekeeper September 2023, joining other companies with more than 45M monthly users, including Google (GOOGL), Meta (META), Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), and Booking.com (BKNG).
