Theater chains that include Cinemark (CNK) and Regal have had talks about how to better compete against big-screen service of Imax (IMAX), Bloomberg’s Thomas Buckley reports, citing people familiar with the matter. The chains may unite around a single new brand name to screen films in a new premium format, the report states.
