Adobe (ADBE) Analytics estimates U.S. consumers spent a record $6.4B online on Thanksgiving, up 5.3% year over year, while Salesforce had “a more muted read” on Thanksgiving shopping as the company estimates that U.S. consumers spent $8.4B overall, rising 3% from a year ago, reported Barron’s Sabrina Escobar. Salesforce and Adobe expect sales to pick up today, with Adobe forecasting that consumers will spend a record $11.7B online for Black Friday, up 8.3% year-over-year, and Salesforce predicting that Black Friday will generate $18B in sales in the U.S., up 3% year-over-year, the report noted. Big box retailers include Best Buy (BBY), Costco (COST), Target (TGT) and Walmart (WMT). Online retailers include Amazon.com (AMZN), Beyond (BYON), Wayfair (W) and eBay (EBAY).
