Tesla (TSLA) drivers have reported that its Full Self-Driving software sometimes fails to recognize or respond properly to train crossings, ignoring lowered gates, flashing lights, or descending arms, and in at least one case a Tesla was hit by a train after driving onto tracks, David Ingram of NBC News reports. These incidents have attracted the attention of the NHTSA, which said “We are aware of the incidents and have been in communication with the manufacturer,” though an active formal investigation has not yet been confirmed.
