As part of an investigation into the risk of electric door handles, Bloomberg found at least 15 deaths in a dozen incidents over the last 10 years where the occupants or rescuers were unable to open the doors of a Tesla (TSLA) vehicle that had crashed and ignited, Dana Hull of Bloomberg reports. While the figures are only a small fraction of the hundreds of fatal EV crashes over that period, the numbers are growing and over half of the deaths in the analysis occurred since November 2024.
